I'm So Grateful
In this Plus Life Media interview, I discuss my life of LGBTQ+, sexuality, and HIV activism. I could not be more grateful.
Recently in “I am proud of this one” I wrote about an award I’ll be receiving in a few days.
I have been lucky enough to receive awards and recognition throughout my life. I am grateful for them all. To be acknowledged for the work one does always feels good. But an award I am receiving that was just announced feels especially good.
The National AIDS Memorial is honoring me with their Lifetime of Commitment Award at their annual Light in the Grove event on November 30, 2025.
Ahead of the award, Karl Schmid of Plus Life Media interviewed me for their +Life show. I say a few things in the interview I would love my reading audience to hear.
I would like to again thank the National AIDS Memorial for the wonderful honor.
If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area, there are still tickets available for the Light in the Grove event.
No matter where you live, if you want to support the remarkable work the National AIDS Memorial does to share the story of the struggle against HIV/AIDS and to remember, in perpetuity, the lives lost, which offers healing and hope to survivors and inspires new generations of activists in the fight against stigma, denial, and hate for a just future, you can donate directly here.
I’m going to offer here the words I plan to end my award acceptance speech with because I think it always applies.
Be strong. Be helpful. Be kind.
